"I continue to believe that this world has no ultimate meaning, but I know...
...that something in it has meaning and that is man." Albert Camus
What is sorealism?
Is it just a state of mind?
The human brain is the most complex thing in the universe. With over a billion neurones, each capable of at least ten thousand connections, there are more permutations to the human mind than there are particles in the universe.
Science constantly shows us... there's nothing more trippy than
reality
So sorealism is a return to reality, but with a bang. Theoretically, it's not unlike realism, but without the complacency or self satisfaction. In the arts, Sorealism is like magical realism, but without the bad bits - i.e. the magic.
And how do you know a sorealist politician? He's the one who inhales
We know Lorca is there somewhere. And Grahame Greene
and Ricky Gervais. But what Albert Camus? Edward Hopper? Dennis Hopper? Your uncle Brian? Homer? And which one? The yellow one?
The main criterion for inclusion is someone who's ingrained ideas have been challenged, changed, and widened in the encounter with intractable reality. Open mindedness, multiplicity, uncertainty would probably be key characteristics, but hey...
By definition, as sorealists, we're open to anything.
Our principle is that reality
is always much more bizarre than anything you can make up....
So rather than make up in advance what is soreal, who's a sorealist, and what the true definition of sorealism is, we're asking you to define it.
Let us know the best sorreal moment. It may be an anecdote from your person life, or a
story from the news. Funny, tragic, inexplicable? It certainly will be uncertain, and hopefully fun.
